Frequently asked questions.
Choosing a care home is a big decision. Here are the questions families ask us most — and if yours isn't here, please just ask.
Can we visit before making a decision?
Yes — please do. Visitors are welcome at any time and no appointment is needed, though a quick call on 01843 228570 means the manager can be free to show you around and answer your questions.
What type of care do you provide?
The Willows is a residential and dementia care home for up to 40 older adults. We provide residential care, dementia care, respite (short stay) care and personal care, all delivered in a person-centred way.
Do you offer short stays or respite care?
Yes. Respite stays are available subject to availability — they're often used to give family carers a break, or as a trial before a permanent move.
What are the fees and what do they include?
Fees depend on the level of care each person needs, so we discuss them individually after an assessment. Fees cover accommodation, meals and refreshments, personal care, laundry and our activities programme.
What is mealtime like?
All meals are home-cooked on site and adapted to individual tastes and dietary needs. Families are welcome to join residents at the table. Protected mealtimes are 12.30–1.30 and 4.00–5.30.
What happens day to day?
There are group activities and one-to-one sessions every day, plus visits from entertainers and therapists. Residents choose how much they take part — quiet days in the lounge or garden are just as welcome.
Can residents bring their own furniture and belongings?
Absolutely. We encourage residents to personalise their room with their own furniture, photographs and treasured belongings so it feels like their own home.
How is the home rated?
The Care Quality Commission rates The Willows Good in all five categories — Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. We're also rated 9.3/10 on carehome.co.uk and 4.8/5 on Google.
How do we start the process?
Get in touch by phone or through our enquiry form. We'll arrange a visit and a free assessment of care needs, then talk through room availability, fees and a moving-in date at your pace.

Still have a question?
We're happy to talk things through — no pressure, no rush.
